"Ronaldo and Messi would not have been in the same level in my days: Luis Figo"

Nobody can deny the fact that before Cristiano Ronaldo,Luis Figo was the man of Portugal. The 42 year old has played over 249 matches for FC Barcelona and most surprisingly almost the same amount of matches for Real Madrid too(239) matches. But recently when he was interviewed Figo had a different view about the current best two players in the world Ronaldo and Messi.
What Figo said?
Former Portugal captain when asked about fellow country mate Cristiano Ronaldo and nemesis Lionel Messi he told that admits that currently these two players are at another level from rest of the players in the world but believes that the case would not have been the same if they had played during the timeperiod of 1990-2000.He clearly told “if i were a manager i would definitely have signed Cristiano or Messi at this moment but i too have played with some great and fantastic players both from my team and as opposition who i think were even better than Lionel Messi and Cristiano ronaldo.”
He also shared his views about who have the probable capacity to win champions league this year and said he hopes it will be either of Bayern,Barca,Real Madrid or Chelsea. The BallonD’or winner also said that he thinks in la Liga this year will be again dominate by two traditionally strong team of Spain i.e. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid above the reigning champions Atletico Madrid.
Luis Figo had played a total of 577 matches scoring 93 goals and he also hold about 127 caps for Portugal with 32 goals. He also had many honorable awards including the Portuguese golden ball in 1994 world cup and BallonD’or in 2000 and surely was one of the best in his time but was he better than Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi?
