After World Cup we all were waiting for the opening day of the different club football leagues and the wait was finally over when La Liga was resumed on Saturday.La Liga considered to be one of the most competitive leagues not only in Europe but in the whole world hosts the two most fierce cub in europe none other than the two juggernauts of football world FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.So we will see how really these two teams performed on their opening day matches.
Barcelona who in the last season failed to win the title in the last match-day against Atletico Madrid were very excited to start the new campaign with a win to boost their confidence for the whole season.Though the starting eleven were lacking players like Ter Stegen,Suarez,Neymar,Xavi and Iniesta but the performance of FC Barcelona was yet excellent as they again proved that playing with coordination in a football field can help you win matches.
Barca's star player and the world's best Lionel Messi who was the captain of Argentina when they faced Germany in the WC 2014 clearly hinted his intentions when he scored two awesome goals in the opening match of the season.The Argentinian was brilliant for the whole match showing his skills and his vision of passing the ball and making co-ordination with team mates for which he his known.It was not only Messi who catched the world's attention but also a youngstar Munir El Haddadi who recently graduated from Barca B scored a brilliant chip over Elche's goal-keeper to give barca a 2nd goal.Barca's overall performance was superb with almost 72% ball possession they easily won the match 3-0 over Elche and surely gained confidence for the rest of the La Liga campaign.
While on the other part of Spain the mighty white Real Madrid went into their first Liga match with the sadness of defeat under the hands of neighborhoods Atletico Madrid in the super cup de espanna played just 3 days before.
Though it didn't affected their performance against Cordoba.Real Madrid got the lead in the opening 30 mins of the game when Benzema scored the goal.For the whole match Real Madrid had overall ball possession of 63% and the team were quite attacking but the 2nd goal came only in the dying minutes when Cristiano Ronaldo scored a 90 mins goal and create a new personal record of being the only man to have scored against each and every team in La Liga.So,lets see what happens in the near future that what these two beasts can achieve in the further stages of the league and most importantly what happens when they face each other in El Classico.
